About

Me

I generally tackle every beat that comes my way, and you might be able to see that in my clips. I’ve always enjoyed photography, and I’ve recently been honing my writing and videography skills.

I gained a critical eye as the editor-in-chief of the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s student newspaper, The Gateway, from mid-2023 to late 2024. I reviewed nearly every story our small staff published, while also providing the majority of the photography and some articles. I led staff meetings, handled all layout and design, managed most social media efforts and maintained relationships with printing and university staff. Additionally, I crafted and presented our 2024-2025 budget. I previously served as the paper’s photo editor since 2021.

Currently, I cover anything Council Bluffs and Southwest Iowa for the Council Bluffs Daily Nonpareil. As a part-time reporter, I cover practically anything: community events, businesses, people, elections, government, severe weather, investigations and more. Each story requires background research and interviews, and I often shoot and edit my own photos and videos.

In 2025 I’ve been awarded for the “best video” by the Iowa Newspaper Association in their second-to-largest circulation class. The Nonpareil was also awarded “best breaking news story” for my coverage of tornadoes that struck Council Bluffs and Minden. As a staff we were recognized with first place in “continuous coverage” for our work on those disasters.

My partner, myself and my parents at the Omaha Press Club in 2024.

I was also awarded the Paul N. Williams Scholarship by the Omaha Press Club in 2024. Back in 2020 I won second place in Class A advertising from the Nebraska School Activities Association.

I recently graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in the summer of 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in communication — majoring in journalism with a secondary field of study in entrepreneurship topics. While in school I especially enjoyed my time in the TV studio, where I learned about producing behind the camera, and occasionally went in front of it.

I am open to any freelance photography or writing opportunities that do not conflict with my work.
